IAG Albany
The IAG building in Albany is a three-storey office building for IAG insurance. The building was designed by Ignite Architects with structural engineering completed by Mott MacDonald. The building structure consists of an offset precast concrete shear core which provides lateral stability to the building and precast concrete double tee floors supported on composite steel beams. Some unique challenges to the structural design include the foundation system which consist of shallow pad foundations and high-tension anchors to prevent uplift. Additional challenges included the offset core which resulted in significant building torsion.
Jonathan Tait completed the regulatory peer review of the superstructure and foundation design during his time working at Structus.
